Folly Wood Fishery has been developed over the last 11 years, and consists of two lakes capable of
accommodating 60 anglers. The lakes are set within 41 acres of woodland. The lakes hold a good stock of fish:- In the larger of the lake, the carp run up to 10lbs and up to 20lbs in the other lake, With good shoals of roach, bream nearing 10lb, ide, tench upto 6lb, perch upto 2lb, rudd and roach in both lakes.

The smaller lake over the back holds some big bream and a very good head of smaller carp as this is used a stock pond and has good depths of 6ft around the main island. All the usual baits work in both lakes but better catches of bream are taken on chopped worm andcorn fishing the open deeper water which is always worth a plumbing session first to find thedeeper water. In the summer months in the larger lake you will see beautiful lilly beds whichas always hold the carp and tench which will feed over beds of hemp seed. Roach and rudd will
be caught anywhere and there is the chance of a big perch roaming around following the smaller
bait fish.

I have found the little and often feeding produces the best results with small feeders to avoid alot of crashing in the water as some swims may only be 2ft in depth but will hold good numbers. Pole fishing is great fun here as most bigger fish can be controlled and landed on light tackle.

Fishery is found on Sand lane which is the back road from Easingwold (type Follywoods Fishery, Huby into google maps), Day tickets are £5 per rodwhich can be payed on the lake side or there is a honesty box on site as you enter the venue.Night fishing is by prior arrangement priced at £20 for a 24hr session contact 01347 810617 to arrange.

Owner is on with a specimen lake for the carp anglers which will be due to open soon and also has the Pottery Pond in Strensall.
